Fishing Differently®️ Congregational Assessment
Registration and Assessment Instructions
Welcome to the Fishing Differently®️ Congregational Assessment! Please follow these instructions to register and have their congregations complete the assessment.
Registration Instructions:
REGISTRATION
-
Note: The assessment link will remain live for 30 days after registration is completed, so do not register until you are ready to distribute the assessment URL link to your congregation.
Go to
-
On the landing page, in the top right corner, click the “Register” button.
-
Complete the self-explanatory registration fields for your congregation.
-
When entering your church’s street address, choose the correct address from the drop down selections. This will automatically and accurately complete the rest of the address and County fields.
-
Select your denomination, the number of active members of your church (slide tool), your password, and a radius (see next bullet for guidance on this selection)
-
Radius selection - The final assessment report includes detailed demographic information for the neighborhood surrounding your church location. The neighborhood size is dictated by the radius you select (in miles) here. You should think of this neighborhood as the area from which your congregation would most naturally attract members AND the area where your congregation would most naturally do its ministry work. We suggest the following as a guideline for your radius selection:
-
Urban Congregations (very densely populated urban areas): 1 mile or less.
-
Suburban Congregations (Less densely populated areas outside of urban centers): 3 miles or less
-
Rural Areas (Sparsely populated areas): The appropriate radius may vary significantly, from 5 miles to 15 or more miles. Use your judgement to most accurately select what is appropriate for your congregation.
-
Note: These are only suggested distances. Congregations should make choices based upon their knowledge of their own neighborhoods and communities
-
Once you have completed the registration questions, check the (privacy policy) box, and then click “Continue to Checkout”
-
On the checkout page, review the information you entered on the previous page, if correct, enter any promo code you may have received and your credit Card information, as required.
-
The next page will provide you with the URL which you share with your congregation so that they may take part in the assessment.
-
Should you need to find this code again, it is available on the Project Manager’s Dashboard:
-
go to and click LOGIN (use the email address and the password you selected).
-
On the left-hand side you will find the navigation bar. Under “Settings” you will see “Survey Link”
-
You will also receive an automated email with your registration details.
SHARING THE ASSESSMENT LINK WITH YOUR CONGREGATION:
-
Each congregation can decide how to distribute the link. We suggest:
-
Sending the link via email to the greatest extent possible (this is the preferred method) If TinyURL Is already set-up, then this is why I have crossed out the rest of the text.
-
Printing the link in Sunday bulletins
-
Sharing the link during other gatherings such as Bible study, etc.
-
Making computers, tablets, and/or smart phones available following services and other gatherings for those who may not be able to access the online assessment at home
ENCOURAGE YOUR ENTIRE CONGREGATION TO COMPLETE THE ASSESSMENT BEFORE THE 30-DAY DEADLINE:
-
The link remains “live” for only 30 days from the date the Project Manager registers. This should provide enough time to distribute it and have several weeks to encourage participation.
-
The Project Manager can monitor participation on the Dashboard (see above for instructions to LOGIN to your dashboard), which will show the number of people who have taken the assessment.
-
The greater the participation, the more insightful and accurate the assessment results will be, so the Project Manager should monitor participation and provide as much encouragement as necessary to maximize participation.
REVIEW THE REPORT:
-
After 30 days, the link will expire and Project Manager can download the congregation’s assessment in a pdf report from their dashboard, and distribute as they see fit. An email will also be sent to the project manager notifying them that the 30 days has expired, and the report is available to download.
